Blue Morpho Butterflies Showing Flying and Perched Camouflage Wing Profiles

One Blue Morpho butterfly flies beside another resting on a broad leaf at La Paz Waterfall Gardens in Costa Rica. The airborne butterfly flashes bright blue upper wings, while the perched butterfly shows the brown, eye-spotted underside of its closed wings. The dark background makes their contrasting wing surfaces particularly clear.
