Blue Morpho Butterflies Displaying Open Flight and Perched Camouflage Wings

Two Blue Morpho butterflies occupy the same broad leaf at La Paz Waterfall Gardens in Costa Rica. One crosses above the leaf with its blue upper wings open, while the other remains perched with its brown, eye-spotted underside visible. Their positions make the difference between the two wing surfaces easy to see.
