Blue Morpho Butterfly Hovering Over Perched Camouflaged Companion

A Blue Morpho butterfly hovers above a second one perched on a green leaf at La Paz Waterfall Gardens in Costa Rica. The flying butterfly faces the camera with its iridescent blue wings fully spread; below, the resting butterfly shows the brown, eye-spotted underside of its closed wings. The two positions show the striking contrast between the upper and lower wing surfaces.
