Blue-Gray Tanager Diving Downward in Flight

A blue-gray tanager is captured in mid-flight as it drops downward from a dark forest branch or fruit pod. Part of a sequential action series documenting its flight movement, the bird is frozen in an inverted dive with its wings completely extended and angled upward. The photograph displays the contrast between its soft greyish-blue underparts and the bright cerulean blue coloration along the top surfaces of its primary flight feathers, set against a dark background.
