Green-crowned Brilliant Flying Past a Yellow Flower Spike

An action close-up photograph captures a green-crowned brilliant (Heliodoxa jacula) hummingbird hovering mid-flight near a yellow flower spike at Adolfo's Gardens in Boca Tapada. The large hummingbird is frozen at a steep diagonal angle with its long wings swept wide apart and its notched tail fanned outward for flight stabilization. The high-speed multi-flash illumination highlights the shimmering, iridescent green plumage across its entire torso and head against a vibrant green bokeh backdrop.
