Green-crowned Brilliant Feeding from a Red Hibiscus Flower

An action close-up photograph captures a green-crowned brilliant hummingbird hovering to feed from a hanging red sleeping hibiscus (Malvaviscus arboreus) blossom at Adolfo's Gardens in Boca Tapada. The high-speed sync multi-flash system freezes the bird in a steep diagonal climb with its wings extended backward, inserting its long bill into the base of the bright red flower, isolated cleanly against a vibrant green bokeh background.
