Female Green-crowned Brilliant Displaying Spread Wings and Tail in Flight

An action close-up photograph captures a female green-crowned brilliant (Heliodoxa jacula) hummingbird frozen mid-motion as it glides horizontally directly above a bright red torch ginger (Etlingera elatior) blossom at Adolfo's Gardens in Boca Tapada. Shot with a high-speed sync multi-flash system, the bird is documented with its wings spread wide to the sides, showcasing its shimmering, metallic iridescent green upperparts, straight dark bill, and white-spotted underbelly plumage cleanly isolated against a solid green bokeh backdrop.
