Snowy Egret Flying Head-on Over the Tárcoles River

A Snowy Egret approaches just above the water with neck folded and long wings held almost level, its yellow feet tucked behind at Tárcoles River in Costa Rica. The slim black bill, black legs and bright yellow feet separate the Snowy Egret from other white herons. The exposure of 1/2000 sec, f/5.6 and ISO 400 holds the flight posture and major feather groups sharply while leaving restrained motion in the quickest wing tips; the photograph was made in natural light without flash.
