Travels in the Scriptorium

Travels in the Scriptorium

Another serious reader in Budapest, this time immersed in Paul Auster's "Travels in the Scriptorium". Auster was a giant of post-modern American literature, and famous for the New York Trilogy. In this book, every character other than the protagonist, Mr. Blank, is taken from a previous Auster novel. It is neither a funny nor an easy read, but clearly this gentleman is deeply immersed in it. I like the blue seat, the book, and the concentration evident in the semi-naked reader.
