Crane in flight

The few Cranes at the Pen Ponds in Richmond Park always settle as far away from the banks as possible, so usually a long telephoto lens is needed. These shots were taken with the Olympus 300mm f4 wiith a 1.4 extender, making an FFE length of 820mm. The takeoff was shot with the 'Pro Capture ' feature of the EM1x, which enables a burst of shots to be saved before the shutter is pressed. Worked OK, but I think heat haze at this focal length reduces sharpness, and 820mm is a bear to use for BIF. I'll keep working at it.
